An original typeface was designed for this catalogue based on the handwriting of Niedecken.

This expanded second edition is a redesign of the out of print first edition originally published in 1981. The publication is a fully illustrated examination of a central figure in the history of interior design. George Mann Niedecken was a major designer in the Prairie Style primarily known for his collaborations with Frank Lloyd Wright to furnish the interiors of several houses. The second edition was published to celebrate the 2008 opening of the fully catalogued George Mann Niedecken Archive to the public for research at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
