The Center for Art in Wood | Philadelphia, PA | USA
Bartram’s Gardens in Philadelphia is an arboretum founded by John Bartram in 1728. After a devestating storm in 2010 artists from around the world were invited to use the wood from the felled trees to create artworks. The artists visited the gardens where they had the opportunity to be inspired by John Bartram’s work and methods and to choose the wood they would use for their projects. The exhibition presents the imaginative results of their explorations.
